SANA (Windows) | Intiface Central and Bluetooth Connection Guide
=======================================================================

Applies to: SANA Product and Trial Windows apps
Updated: 2026-10-02

This guide covers two different connection methods. The same device may
behave or stop differently when you change methods. First read
SUPPORTED_DEVICES_EN.txt for supported models and test status. The author
has confirmed operation and stopping with the VORZE Piston and The Handy.
Whether SANA works with your own device: please try the free trial edition
first.

  A. Via Intiface Central: SANA -> Intiface Central -> Bluetooth -> device
  B. Bluetooth:            SANA -> Bluetooth -> device

Intiface Central is a separate app and is not bundled with SANA. Route B
does not need it. USB serial is a third route, outside this guide.
Do not connect the same device through A and B at once. Before changing
routes, stop the session, verify the device has physically stopped, and
disconnect the previous route.

Keep the device away from your body for the first connection and test. Some
devices may move while connecting. Learn how to stop or power off the device
from its own manual first. SANA's Connected and Stop status messages do not
measure the device's actual position or physical stopping.

A. Connect a Bluetooth device through Intiface Central
-------------------------------------------------------
1. Get Intiface Central for Windows from its official site,
https://intiface.com/ , and open it. SANA requires version 3.0.3 or
later. The older Intiface Desktop is deprecated. Check the source and
version of the Central app you install.
2. Turn on the device and keep it near the PC. Disconnect it from other
apps or a phone. Most Bluetooth LE devices should not be paired first
in Windows Bluetooth settings. There are device-specific exceptions,
including some Kiiroo models; follow the device manual and Intiface's
   brand-specific instructions for those.
3. In Central, check that its Bluetooth LE device manager is enabled. It
is on by default. You may have to stop Central's server to change it.
4. Press the Play button at the top of Central to start its server. The
default port is 12345. Note the Server Address shown there. Open
Central's Devices screen, press Start Scanning, and check whether your
device appears. You may press Stop Scanning after it appears. A device
visible in Central is not necessarily usable by SANA.
5. SANA Product: Open Settings > Connect. Set Connection route to
Intiface Central, enter the address under Server, then press Connect.
You can also press Connect via Intiface Central.
SANA Trial: In section 01 Connection, press Intiface Central. This
starts its Central connection and device search.
6. SANA's initial Server value is ws://localhost:12345 for Central on the
same PC with its default settings. If you changed the port or address,
use the address shown by Central. SANA requires a full URL beginning
with ws:// or wss://. If Central shows only host:port, add ws:// at the
start. If no device appears, press SANA's
Find device (Find devices in the Trial), and check Central's scan.
7. If SANA already shows Connected, verify the device name and continue.
Otherwise, choose the relevant axis in Device and linear axis to use
and press Use this axis. The only supported axis may be preselected,
but you still need to press the button if SANA is not yet connected.
The Trial always finishes with Use this axis. Vibration-only or
   rotation-only devices, and devices without a position-and-duration
linear axis, will not appear as usable SANA choices.

Note: Central's advanced Device Websocket Server setting is for a separate
device transport. You do not need to enable it for SANA's normal client
connection to Central.

B. Connect from SANA by Bluetooth (without Intiface)
----------------------------------------------------
1. Check the Bluetooth communication profile list in
SUPPORTED_DEVICES_EN.txt for your model and generation. A listing does
   not guarantee physical operation. Turn on PC Bluetooth and the device;
keep them near each other. Disconnect the device from other apps/phones.
2. SANA Product: In Settings > Connect, choose Bluetooth under
Connection route and press Connect, or use Connect via
Bluetooth. SANA Trial: In section 01 Connection, press Bluetooth.
3. Select the device in SANA's Select a Bluetooth device window. If it
does not appear, try Scan again. Do not assume Windows Bluetooth
settings must pair every device beforehand. Follow a pairing or PIN
prompt only if SANA or Windows presents one for your device.
4. Check the device name and Connected status in SANA. Cancelling the
picker or choosing a device without a matching communication profile
does not complete a connection. This route does not use Central,
Find device, or Use this axis.

First motion and stop check after connecting
--------------------------------------------
1. Keep the device away from your body. In the Product, set low speed and
travel under Settings > Limits. In the Trial, start with a small motion
from section 02 Measure a baseline.
2. Visually check whether the device moves on connection and whether a
small stroke moves in the intended direction and range. The position
bar is an estimate, not a physical measurement.
3. While it moves, try SANA's on-screen Stop or Cancel control and check the device
itself. Then check what happens on Disconnect and app exit. A successful
stop command does not prove physical interruption of an ongoing move.
4. If motion continues, movement is unexpected, or you feel pain or
discomfort, use the device's own stop or power control immediately as
its manual describes. Recheck range, direction, and stopping whenever
   you change connection routes.

If the device is missing or cannot connect
------------------------------------------
- A: If SANA cannot reach Central, check that Central's server is running
and that SANA's Server matches Central's Server Address. Another program
may be using default port 12345.
- A: If Central cannot see the device, check Bluetooth LE in Central,
scanning, device power, PC Bluetooth, and connections to another app or
  phone.
- A: If only Central sees it, check whether the device exposes a usable
position-and-duration linear axis. SANA cannot use every Central device.
- B: If it is absent from SANA's picker, check PC Bluetooth, device power
and distance, other connections, Scan again, and the listed model/version.
- Either route: If it does not move or stop as expected, end the test and
stop it with the device's own controls. Do not judge safety from SANA's
  status display alone.
